Brown Sugar Shaken Espresso

If you love a good shaken espresso moment, this one is about to be on repeat.

It’s smooth, lightly sweet, and perfectly frothy, with that classic coffee shop feel — but made at home with just a few simple ingredients. The brown monkfruit sweetener gives it that cozy, caramel-like flavor without being overly sweet, and the shake creates that signature airy texture.

It’s quick, easy, and honestly feels a little elevated for how simple it is.

Why You’ll Love This

  • Lightly sweet with a brown sugar flavor
  • Frothy, chilled, and super refreshing
  • Made with just a few simple ingredients
  • Easy to customize with your favorite milk
  • Feels like a coffee shop drink at home

Brown Sugar Shaken Espresso

Ingredients

  • 1 tbsp brown monkfruit sweetener  OR regular brown sugar but the monkfruit I linked is sugar-free
  • 2 shots espresso
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • Ice
  • Milk of choice

Instructions

  1. Brew espresso
Pull 2 shots of espresso and pour into a jar or shaker.
  2. Add sweetener + vanilla
Add the brown monkfruit sweetener and vanilla extract while the espresso is still hot. Stir or shake lightly to dissolve.
  3. Shake
Add a handful of ice, secure the lid, and shake for about 10–15 seconds until frothy and chilled.
  4. Pour + finish
Fill a glass with ice, pour the shaken espresso over, then top with your favorite milk.
  5. Stir + enjoy
Give it a quick stir and enjoy that creamy, slightly sweet coffee shop vibe.

My Tips

  • Shake while the espresso is still warm so the sweetener dissolves better
  • Use a jar with a tight lid for that perfect frothy texture
  • Adjust sweetness to taste — add a little more if you like it sweeter
  • Homemade cashew milk is especially good here for extra creaminess

What It Tastes Like

Light, smooth, and slightly sweet with warm vanilla notes and that subtle brown sugar flavor. It’s refreshing, creamy, and has that signature shaken espresso foam on top.

Your At-Home Café Moment

This is one of those drinks that feels a little fancy but takes less than 5 minutes. Perfect for mornings, afternoon pick-me-ups, or whenever you want that coffee shop feel without leaving the house.

If you make it, let me know — this one’s so good to keep on repeat!
