Homemade Hamburger Helper in collaboration with Our Place
Name a better duo, I’ll wait. Besides Poppy and I, the Our Place Perfect Pot and Always Pan are the most perfect pair there ever was!
Long gone are the days of having 10 different pots and pans for different cooking methods. I’m reminded of how many different pots and pans some people can have each time I go to my in-laws house. My mother-in-law has a pot or pan for everything. It’s impressive yet overwhelming because their cabinets are so full that it takes 20 minutes to find what you’re looking for. Thankfully my friends over at Our Place have made it easy by creating the Perfect Pot and Always Pan. Both pot and pan are so versatile that it makes cooking a breeze, plus they both look super stylish in our new kitchen! Let’s talk about each, shall we?
First the Perfect Pot – It combines all your pots and then some more cookware: stockpot, dutch oven, saucepot, roasting rack, steamer, strainer, braiser, and spoon rest. I love love love the spoon rest feature, no more messy counters because of the pesky cooking spoon. It moves seamlessly from stovetop to oven (oven safe to 425 degrees!!!) and this pot is surprisingly (jaw-droppingly) lightweight. Perfect to move from the oven and straight to the dinner table.
Now for the Always Pan – I’ve had my Always Pan for over a year and I can proudly say that I’ve used it every single day since! The Always Pan replaces 8 pieces of cookware. It’s your fry pan, saute pan, steamer, skillet, saucier, saucepan, non-stick pan, spatula, and spoon rest. The exclusive non-toxic, ceramic coating is made without potentially toxic materials like PFOAs, and PTFEs. It’s super slippery and makes cleanup a breeze!
There’s a reason that these Our Place products are called the Perfect Pot and Always Pan, they’re perfect and I always use them. 🙂
This week Poppy and I made a better-for-you hamburger helper with a side of steamed broccoli. This meal gives me all the feels of my childhood yet it’s filled with ingredients to help all of us thrive. Even my one year old devoured it all! This is a recipe that you’ll want to have on the menu weekly.

- 1 pound lean ground beef
- 1 medium yellow onion, chopped

- 1 pound pasta of choice
- 2 cup low sodium beef broth
- 1 1/2 cups milk of choice
- 1 1/2-2 cups shredded cheddar cheese

Instructions:
- In the Perfect Pot set over medium heat, add the olive oil, onion and beef. Season with sea salt and pepper. Cook until brown all over, breaking up the meat as you go, about 10 minutes. Stir in the chili powder, paprika, and garlic powder, cook another minute.
- Add the pasta and zucchini and toss to coat, then pour in the broth and milk. Add the ketchup and stir to combine. Season with sea salt.
- Bring to a gentle boil over medium high heat. Simmer 5-8 minutes until the pasta is al dente, stirring often.

- Divide the pasta among bowls and top with fresh parsley. Serve with a side of steamed broccoli made in the Always Pan, Enjoy!
