Starbucks Banana Bread Matcha Iced Latte (Homemade Dupe)

If banana bread and a matcha latte had a baby, this would be it.

This homemade Starbucks-inspired Banana Bread Matcha Iced Latte is cozy, lightly spiced, naturally sweetened, and layered with creamy milk and earthy matcha — then topped with the most unreal banana cold foam.

It tastes indulgent.
It’s secretly simple.
And it feels like a coffee shop drink you’d save for a treat… except you can make it in your kitchen.


The Banana Bread Syrup

This syrup is what transforms everything. It’s warm, cinnamon-y, slightly salty, and full of real banana flavor.

Ingredients

  • 2 ripe bananas, mashed

  • 1 cup maple syrup

  • 1 cup water

  • 2 tsp cinnamon

  • ½ tsp vanilla bean paste

  • Heavy pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. In a small saucepan over medium heat, combine mashed bananas, maple syrup, water, cinnamon, and salt.

  2. Bring to a slow boil, then reduce heat.

  3. Simmer on low for 10–12 minutes, stirring occasionally.

  4. Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla bean paste.

  5. Transfer to a mason jar or bowl and blend with an immersion blender until smooth.

  6. Strain if desired — but I personally love a little thickness for that banana bread vibe.

Store in the fridge for up to one week.


Banana Bread Matcha Iced Latte

Ingredients

  • 1½–2 tsp ceremonial grade matcha

  • ¼ cup hot water

  • ¾ cup milk of choice (I love homemade cashew milk here)

  • 2–3 tbsp banana bread syrup

  • Ice

Instructions

  1. Whisk matcha with hot (not boiling) water until smooth and frothy.

  2. Fill a glass with ice.

  3. Add banana bread syrup.

  4. Pour in milk.

  5. Top with matcha and gently stir.


Banana Cold Foam (The Best Part)

Ingredients

  • ¼ cup heavy cream

  • 1 tsp banana bread syrup

  • Dash of cinnamon

How to Make

Froth together using a handheld frother or shake in a jar until thick and cloud-like.

Spoon over your matcha latte and finish with an extra sprinkle of cinnamon.
