This easy homemade caramel latte is rich, cozy, and made with a simple two-ingredient caramel sauce. It comes together in minutes using espresso or strong coffee and can easily be made dairy-free. A warm, coffee shop–style drink that’s perfect for slow mornings or an afternoon pick-me-up — without leaving home.
Optional toppings: whipped cream and extra caramel sauce
Instructions
Make the Caramel Sauce
In a small saucepan over medium heat, add the butter and sugar. Stir frequently until the butter has melted. Continue cooking for another 4–5 minutes, stirring constantly, until the mixture becomes dark brown and bubbly. Remove from heat and set aside.
Heat the Milk
In a separate small saucepan over low heat, combine the milk, 2 tablespoons of caramel sauce, and vanilla extract. Bring to a gentle simmer, then whisk until warmed and frothy.
Assemble the Latte
Add the espresso shot (or strong coffee) to a mug. Pour the warm caramel milk mixture over the top.
Finish & Enjoy
Top with whipped cream and an extra drizzle of caramel sauce if you’re feeling fancy — highly recommended.
