Ingredients
-
1/2 cup natural peanut butter
-
1/4 cup coconut flour or 3/4 cup almond flour
-
2 tbsp maple syrup
-
1 cup dark chocolate
-
1 tsp coconut oil
-
Sea salt, for topping
Instructions
-
In a bowl, mix together the peanut butter, flour, and maple syrup until a dough forms.
-
Place the dough onto a cutting board and roll it out evenly.
-
Use a heart-shaped cookie cutter to cut out hearts. Transfer them to a parchment-lined baking sheet and place in the freezer for 30 minutes.
-
While the hearts are freezing, melt the dark chocolate and coconut oil together until smooth.
-
Dip each frozen heart into the melted chocolate until fully coated. Place back on parchment and drizzle with extra chocolate if desired. Sprinkle with flaky sea salt.
-
Return to the freezer for at least another 30 minutes, until fully set.
-
Store in the fridge or freezer and enjoy.
Tips & Notes
-
Coconut flour creates a firmer dough; almond flour makes them slightly softer — both work beautifully.
-
Keep these chilled so the chocolate stays snappy.
-
These make the cutest edible Valentine’s gift wrapped in parchment and twine.
Sweet, simple, and made with love — these peanut butter hearts are proof that homemade treats don’t have to be complicated to feel special.
