Green Apple Limeade

If you asked me to drink plain water all day… I’d probably fail.

I’ve never been someone who loves plain water, and pregnancy has only made it harder. Staying hydrated is obviously so important right now, but sometimes I need something that actually makes me want to drink it.

Enter: this Green Apple Limeade.

It starts with a coconut water base for an extra hydration boost, then gets blended with tart green apple, fresh lime, and just a touch of sweetness. It’s bright, refreshing, and honestly tastes like something you’d order from a cute juice shop.

The best part? You definitely don’t have to be pregnant to love this one. It’s become one of my favorite ways to stay hydrated all summer long.

Why You’ll Love This Recipe

  • A fun way to stay hydrated
  • Made with simple ingredients
  • Naturally refreshing and lightly sweet
  • Perfect for hot summer days
  • Kid-friendly
  • Ready in just a few minutes
  • Delicious whether you’re pregnant or not

Ingredients

  • 2½ cups coconut water
  • 1 small green apple, cored and chopped
  • Juice of 1 lime, I added 2 and it was perfect
  • ¼–½ teaspoon Celtic sea salt
  • 2 tablespoons honey or maple syrup (optional, depending on sweetness preference)
  • Ice

Optional Garnish

  • Lime slices
  • Thin green apple slices

Instructions

Add the coconut water, green apple, fresh lime juice, sea salt, and honey (or maple syrup) to a high-speed blender.

Blend until smooth.

If you prefer a smoother drink, strain through a fine mesh sieve. Otherwise, pour directly over a glass filled with ice.

Garnish with fresh lime and green apple slices and enjoy immediately.

Tips

  • Coconut water is what makes this drink extra hydrating.
  • Adjust the honey depending on how tart your apple is.
  • Chill the coconut water beforehand so your drink stays extra cold.
  • Blend with a handful of ice if you want more of a frozen limeade texture.
  • Make a double batch to keep in the fridge for the next day.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I make this ahead of time?

Yes! Store it in a sealed jar in the refrigerator for up to 2 days. Give it a good shake before serving.

Can I use another apple?

Definitely! Honeycrisp or Pink Lady will make it sweeter, while Granny Smith gives that classic tart green apple flavor.

Is this only for pregnancy?

Not at all! I originally started making it because I was struggling to drink enough water while pregnant, but it’s become one of my favorite summer drinks regardless.

Final Thoughts

Hydration has honestly been one of the biggest challenges for me during pregnancy, and I’ve learned that if I actually enjoy what I’m drinking, I’m so much more likely to stay on top of it.

This Green Apple Limeade has been my latest obsession. It’s crisp, refreshing, packed with flavor, and makes drinking something hydrating feel like a little treat instead of a chore.

Whether you’re pregnant, chasing kids around all day, working outside, or just trying to drink a little more water this summer, I hope this recipe helps make hydration a whole lot more enjoyable.
