Copycat Café Ep. 17: Tru Fru blueberry bark
If you’ve ever grabbed a bag of Tru Fru while wandering the freezer aisle… same.

There’s just something about fruit covered in creamy yogurt and chocolate that makes it feel like the perfect little treat. So naturally, I had to recreate it at home with a better-for-you twist.
This version uses fresh blueberries, creamy Greek yogurt, rich dark chocolate, and an optional drizzle of white chocolate for that classic Tru Fru look. It comes together in just a few minutes, lives in your freezer, and is the perfect sweet bite when you’re craving something refreshing.
Honestly… I might like this version even better.
Why You’ll Love This Recipe
- Inspired by the viral Tru Fru frozen treats
- Made with simple ingredients
- Naturally packed with antioxidants from blueberries
- Perfect for meal prep
- Stores in the freezer for easy snacking
- Sweet, creamy, and chocolatey
- Ready with just a handful of ingredients
Ingredients
- 1 cup fresh blueberries
- ½ cup plain or vanilla Greek yogurt
- 1–2 teaspoons water (to thin the yogurt)
- ½ cup dark chocolate, melted
Optional
- ¼ cup white chocolate, melted
- Flaky sea salt
Instructions
Line a small tray or plate with parchment paper.
Spread the blueberries into a single layer, keeping them close together so they’ll freeze into one bark.
In a small bowl, stir together the Greek yogurt and water until smooth and drizzleable.
Drizzle the yogurt evenly over the blueberries.
Melt the dark chocolate in the microwave in 20–30 second intervals, stirring between each until smooth.
Drizzle the melted dark chocolate over the yogurt layer.
If using, drizzle the melted white chocolate over the top and finish with a pinch of flaky sea salt.
Freeze for at least 1 hour, or overnight if you want a firmer bark that’s easier to break into pieces.
Once frozen, break into pieces and enjoy straight from the freezer.
Tips
- Vanilla Greek yogurt adds a little extra sweetness, but plain works great too.
- Don’t skip the flaky sea salt—it makes the chocolate and blueberries pop.
- Store the bark in an airtight container in the freezer for up to 2 months.
- Swap in strawberries or raspberries for a fun variation.
- For a dairy-free version, use your favorite plant-based yogurt.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I use frozen blueberries?
Fresh blueberries work best because they hold together nicely before freezing, but frozen blueberries can work if thawed and patted dry first.
Can I make this dairy-free?
Absolutely! Simply use your favorite dairy-free yogurt and dairy-free chocolate.
How should I store it?
Keep the bark in an airtight container in the freezer. It’s meant to be enjoyed straight from frozen.
Final Thoughts
One of my favorite things about the Copycat Café series is taking a favorite store-bought treat and recreating it with ingredients I already love keeping at home.
This blueberry bark is simple, refreshing, and feels like the perfect little freezer treat during the summer. It’s one of those recipes that’s almost too easy to make, and I always find myself reaching for another piece.
