Iced orange cream matcha (Starbucks dupe)
If you’re new here, I have 70+ Starbucks copycat recipes because I firmly believe you can make your favorite coffee shop drinks at home — and usually make them even better.

This Iced Orange Cream Matcha is creamy, bright, citrusy, and topped with the prettiest orange cream cold foam. Basically an orange creamsicle meets an iced matcha, and somehow it works so well.
The original Starbucks grande Iced Orange Cream Matcha has 37g of sugar. This homemade version has no added sugar, so you can get all those fun orange creamsicle flavors without the sugar overload.
And the orange cream cold foam? Easily my favorite part.
Why You’ll Like This
It tastes like an orange creamsicle. Fresh orange juice, zest, and vanilla make the cold foam creamy, citrusy, and a little nostalgic.
It’s so easy. Once your matcha is whisked, the whole drink comes together in minutes.
You control the ingredients. Use your favorite milk, adjust the orange flavor, and make the cold foam exactly how you like it.
It’s a Starbucks dupe. All the fun of your favorite coffee shop drink, made right in your own kitchen.
No added sugar. The Starbucks grande version has 37g of sugar, while this homemade version skips the added sugar entirely.
Iced Orange Cream Matcha
Ingredients
Matcha
- 2 teaspoons ceremonial-grade matcha
- ¼ cup hot water
- ½ cup milk of choice
- Ice
Orange Cream Cold Foam
- ¼ cup heavy cream
- 1–2 tablespoons milk of choice
- ¼ cup fresh-squeezed orange juice
- Orange zest
- 1 teaspoon vanilla bean paste
- A couple drops of non-toxic orange food coloring, optional
Instructions
Start by whisking the matcha with ¼ cup hot water until smooth and frothy.
Fill a glass with ice and pour in ½ cup of your favorite milk.
Pour the whisked matcha over the milk and ice.
To make the orange cream cold foam, combine the heavy cream, milk, fresh orange juice, orange zest, and vanilla bean paste. Add a couple drops of orange food coloring if you want that extra-bright orange color.
Froth the mixture until thick and creamy.
Spoon the orange cream cold foam over the matcha and finish with a little extra orange zest.
Give it a stir and enjoy.
Tips
Use fresh orange juice. It gives the cold foam a much brighter citrus flavor.
Don’t skip the orange zest. It adds so much flavor and makes the orange really pop.
Use good-quality matcha. Since matcha is one of the main flavors here, I like using a smooth ceremonial-grade matcha rather than one that tastes bitter.
Adjust your cold foam. Add a little more milk if you want it thinner, or use less for a thicker foam.
The food coloring is optional. It’s just for the fun orange color — the fresh orange juice does all the heavy lifting when it comes to flavor.
Final Thoughts
I’m officially calling this the orange creamsicle of matchas.
It’s creamy, citrusy, refreshing, and such a fun change from my usual iced matcha.
And while I get the hype of Starbucks flavors, I’m still boycotting. Especially when I can recreate the drink I’m craving at home, without the 37g of sugar.
