3-Ingredient Nutter Butters

Soft, peanut buttery cookies with a simple, homemade twist.

This one might be the easiest copycat yet. These 3-ingredient nutter butters have that classic peanut butter cookie flavor, but made with simple ingredients you probably already have on hand. They bake up soft with lightly crisp edges, then get sandwiched together with extra peanut butter for that nostalgic, bakery-style feel.

They’re quick, minimal, and one of those recipes you can make anytime you want something sweet without a lot of effort.

Why You’ll Love It

  • Only 3 main ingredients
  • Soft, peanut buttery texture
  • Naturally sweetened with maple syrup
  • Quick and easy to make
  • No chill time needed
  • Perfect for a simple homemade treat

3-Ingredient Nutter Butters

Ingredients

  • 1 cup almond flour (may need 2-3 tbsp more if your peanut butter is super creamy like mine was, add only if dough is too sticky to form a ball)
  • ⅓ cup pure maple syrup
  • ½ cup creamy peanut butter

Instructions

Preheat oven to 350°F and line a baking sheet.

In a bowl, combine the almond flour, maple syrup, and peanut butter. Mix until a soft dough forms.

Roll the dough into teaspoon-sized balls. Take two small balls and place them next to each other on the baking sheet, gently pressing them together to create that classic shape.

Use a fork to press a light hatch pattern on top.

Bake for about 10 minutes, until set.

Remove from the oven and let cool completely — the cookies will firm up as they cool.

Once fully cooled, spread a little extra peanut butter on the back of one cookie and sandwich it together with another.

Tips

  • Let the cookies fully cool before sandwiching so they hold their shape
  • If the dough feels too sticky, add a couple tbsp of almond flour – then let it sit for a few minutes before rolling
  • Don’t overbake — they continue to set as they cool
  • Use a smooth, creamy peanut butter for the best texture

Flavor Notes

These cookies are:

  • Soft and peanut buttery
  • Lightly sweet
  • Slightly crisp on the edges
  • Simple and nostalgic

They have that classic nutter butter feel, just made with a more minimal ingredient list.

Final Thoughts

This is one of those recipes that’s almost too easy not to make — simple ingredients, minimal steps, and something sweet at the end that feels a little nostalgic. I love having recipes like this on hand for when you want something homemade without spending a lot of time in the kitchen.
