Dot Cake Iced Latte
The viral bakery-inspired latte that might be even better than the cake!!

If you’ve spent any time on social media lately, you’ve probably seen the viral Dot cakes taking over your feed. And while I completely understand the hype, I couldn’t help but think those cozy vanilla cake flavors would be even better in latte form.
This Dot Cake Latte tastes like vanilla cake batter, frosting, and coffee all blended into one dreamy sip. The secret is a fluffy cake batter cold foam made with almond paste and vanilla, plus a sprinkle of naturally colored sprinkles on top for the full bakery experience.
Honestly? I think I like this more than the cake.
Why You’ll Love It
- Tastes like vanilla cake in latte form
- Easy to make at home
- Perfect for home café mornings
- No specialty syrups required
- Customizable with dairy-free options
- Gives major bakery coffee shop vibes
Dot Cake Latte
Latte Ingredients
- 2 shots espresso
- Milk of choice
- Lots of ice – here’s my cute ice cube mold link
Cake Batter Cold Foam
- ¼ cup heavy whipping cream
- ½ tsp almond paste
- ¼ tsp vanilla extract
- 1 tsp powdered sugar
- 1–2 tbsp milk of choice, depending on desired consistency
Topping
- Iconic Natural sprinkles (my favorite because they’re made without artificial dyes or unnecessary ingredients): Natural Rainbow Sprinkles linked
Instructions
Fill a glass with ice and your milk of choice.
Pour the espresso over the milk.
In a separate glass or frother, combine the heavy cream, almond paste, vanilla extract, powdered sugar, and milk.
Whisk or froth until thick, creamy, and pourable.
Pour the cake batter cold foam over the latte.
Top with the natural sprinkles and enjoy.
Tips
- Almond paste is what gives this latte that true cake batter flavor.
- Add more milk to the cold foam if you’d like a lighter texture.
- Want it sweeter? Add a teaspoon of maple syrup to the espresso before pouring.
- For the prettiest presentation, use a clear glass so you can see all the layers.
Final Thoughts
Every once in a while a trend comes along that actually lives up to the hype, and I think this latte is one of them. It has all the nostalgic vanilla cake flavors everyone loves, but in a cozy café drink you can make at home in minutes.
And between us? If I had to choose between the viral cake and this latte, I think I’d be reaching for the latte.
